The road to Anaheim 1….
Every Supercross fan is looking forward to the first race of the Monster Energy Supercross season: Anaheim I on Jan 3rd 2015.
This year, there have been many team changes as most of the rider contracts were up on Oct 1st.
New SX tracks are being built in Florida and California and riders are training hard, physically, mentally and on the bike. Some have hired new coaches and trainers in order to improve their results on the track.
Many riders have elected to go to Europe to do some SX races to get race ready while others prefer to stay home and get accustomed to their new rider/bike and team.
With all those things going on, many questions will remain unanswered until the gate drops in Anaheim, CA on Jan 3rd!
Will James Stewart be at the start of the first race of the season despite his suspension from the SSDD for using unauthorized substances?
How will perform the new Husqvarna Team?
Can Ken Roczen win the SX championship on a Suzuki?
Will Trey Canard continue his winning streak of the last outdoor races?
Will Davi Milsaps rebound after more than a year off due to injuries and a fresh win at the MECup in October? He is riding the 2014 SX Champ’s bike after all!
How will perform the young guns (250 riders) in the Premier Class?
Can Chad Reed be back on top form and battle for race wins?
Can Dean Wilson stay healthy and prove what he’s capable of?
Will the former privateer riders get better results now on a full factory bike?
Now, every team, riders and trainers are just wondering where they stand in real race conditions. In the mean time they are on a full training program, testing new parts, tires, suspension settings and new technology to get that little edge that makes the difference when the checkered flag is waved.
The riders are also finalising all of their personal sponsor’s contracts like; helmets, boots, goggles and gear. Sometimes the riders make more out of those deals than their actual pay check from the team, so this is also very important.
There is a lot going on behind the scenes and I am counting the days until A1!… Can’t wait!
